I am the Head of Outreach Services for Tompkins-McCaw Library for the Health Sciences at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. I think I have the BEST JOB in the library as it allows me to interact with my library patrons daily. My job offers me the opportunity to engage the library’s users beyond our physical walls in settings outside the library. Another rewarding aspect of my job is that it allows me to develop programming to draw people back into the library.
My interests in librarianship include recruitment and retention of new professionals, library outreach, cultural competence in libraries, and the provision of library services to underserved populations.
